Hope you’re having a great day! Here’s today’s Quranic verse for you:

“My mercy encompasses all things” [Quran 7:156]

When all hope seems lost, when injustice and evil prevails, remember this beautiful verse on Allah’s Mercy. Allah is the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful, and he Sees things we might not be able to see with our naked eyes and limited use of intellectual faculty. In other words, we might not know the wisdom or hikmah behind all the things that have happened to us, so this verse will reassure us that whatever happens is the Divine Decree of Allah the Most Merciful.

Wearing the Yellow Aqeeq is recommended because it carries a special hirz, amulet, or talisman that’s engraved on it. This particular hirz is inscribed only once a year, during the Sharaf ush-Shams festival. Sometimes you might come across the term “Aqeeq Sharaf ush-Shams.” The talisman itself is referred to as Sharaf ush-Shams, even though the Aqeeq stone is Aqeeq Yamani and it’s engraved on a golden-colored stone.

Additionally, Imam Raza shared Imam Jafar Sadiq’s (a.s.) teachings, explaining that wearing Aqeeq on your fingers can help fulfill desires and protect against neediness.

Aqeeq Stone Secrets:

Wearing rings holds a special significance in Islamic tradition. Both men and women have the option to wear rings on their right hand, although some customs permit wearing them on the left hand as well. It’s important to note that rings with sacred engravings should be taken off before using the restroom.

An interesting tradition dates back to Salman-e-Farsi (may Allah be pleased with him), where the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) advised Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) to wear a ring on his right hand. This showed that Hazrat Ali (a.s.) was like the special ones close to God, called Muqarrabeen. When Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) asked which type of ring to wear, he was instructed to choose one with a red Aqiq stone. The red hue of this stone represented the acceptance of the oneness of God, the prophethood of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him), Hazrat Ali’s (may Allah be pleased with him) vicegerency, and the paradise reserved for the companions and followers of Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him).

Imam Moosa Kazim (peace be upon him) further elaborated on Hazrat Ali’s (may Allah be pleased with him) decision to wear the ring on his right hand. This choice aligned with the concept of Ashab-e-yameen, those righteous individuals whose good deeds will be acknowledged on the Day of Judgment by presenting their deeds in their right hand.

In addition, wearing a ring on the right hand, following the example of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him), serves as a symbol of a believer. This practice, along with performing the five daily prayers, giving Zakat (charity), sharing belongings with fellow believers, promoting virtuous actions, and discouraging wrongdoing, sets believers apart.

Guided by Imam Ja’far-e-Sadiq (peace be upon him), the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) discouraged wearing rings on the first and middle fingers. Instead, it is recommended to place the ring at the base of the finger where it joins the palm. According to the teachings of Fiqh-e-Riza, a supplication is recited while putting on a ring: “O Allah, may the symbols of faith adorn my recognition, may my end be meaningful, and may goodness accompany me in this world and the hereafter. You are known to be Almighty, Wise, and Benevolent.”
